We’re incredibly proud to share that instructor Mr. Kyle Pasquel has been selected to receive a Community Kindness Award from the North Attleboro Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC).
A 3rd-Degree Black Belt with America’s Best Defense, Kyle has been training at our North Attleboro school for more than 15 years and teaching Kids Martial Arts and Krav Maga for more than 7 years.
This recognition is part of SEPAC’s annual Heroes Program, which celebrates individuals who go above and beyond to support children with special needs in meaningful, lasting ways.
Established in 2014, the Heroes Program shines a light on educators, school staff, and community members whose compassion, commitment, and service have made a real difference in the lives of local families. Every nomination comes directly from parents and caregivers—making the award all the more personal and powerful.
Known affectionately by students as “Mr. Kyle,” this nomination reflects the energy, encouragement, and heart he brings to every class at ABD North Attleboro.

Whether he’s cracking a joke or helping a student through a tough moment with patience and care, Kyle’s presence is one that sticks with you.
“Kyle has a real gift for connecting with students, says Master Paul Garcia, founder of America’s Best Defense. “He leads with kindness, shows up for others, and meets everyone where they’re at. We’re incredibly lucky to have him serving our community—and this award couldn’t be more deserved.”

This year’s SEPAC Heroes Award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 6:00 PM in the North Attleboro Middle School Media Room. During the event, nominators will share heartfelt tributes to each honoree, making it a true celebration of community spirit and the power of showing up for one another.
From all of us at ABD, congratulations, Kyle! Your leadership, authenticity, and unwavering support for every student truly embody not only the culture here at ABD, but what it means to be a Black Belt.
